scott-niedermayer.jpgThe Duck’s all-star defenceman, Scott Niedermayer as decided to keep his career going in the NHL. He wants to play this year and have another shot at the Stanley Cup. For the second year in a row, he was thinking about the retirement, and for the second year in a row he is returning. Will Teemu Selanne join him again to give a last shot to the stanley cup?

27 Jun 08 Jaromir Jagr to test the free agents market

jaromir-jagr.jpgNew York Rangers all-star player Jaromir Jagr might test the free market on July first. The discussion with the New-York Rangers are drawing dead. The talks have stop. Jagr would be ready to listen to what other teams has to say. He could also leave for Russia. There is a team there that is very interested in his service and they are ready to pay a lot of money.

26 Jun 08 Jose Theodore to test de free agent market

Jose TheodoreJose Theodore of the Colorado avalanche will test the free agent market. The negotiation has stopped with the Colorado Avalanche. Staying in Colorado is not out of the question his agent said, but he will take the time to see what the other teams has to offer.  Theodore at 31 years old seem to have regain his confidence last season. He finished with a 28-21-3 record with a GAA of 2.44 which is quite respectable. I am the first one to think that his carreer was over when Petr Boudaj took is place as number one goalie in 2006-2006. I think Theodore will get some offers around the league for sure. He is still young when you think Martin Brodeur is 36. Theodore could still be in net for a few years and help a team get to the stanley cup.

25 Jun 08 The Toronto Maple Leafs maybe buying out Darcy Tucker’s contract

Hockey Giant

I tdarcy-tucker.jpghink that the Toronto Maple leafs are making a mistake to buy out Tucker’s contract. It will cost them 1 million for the next 6 years which will be dead cap space. Can they afford this? I don’t think so… I think Darcy Tucker can still help the team a lot. If it is not with the Toronto Maple Leafs, it will be with another team. He still has his place in the NHL. I love this player. He’s got average skills and he is a pest. I love it!

25 Jun 08 The latest on the Montreal Canadiens trade development

Bet now with totesport

Alex Tanguay with the habs

alex-tanguay.jpgThe Montreal has improved their overall forward offensive production with the acquisition of Alex Tanguay. I think Alex Tanguay will be a better fit with Montral then Clagary Flames. Montreal is a more finesse and speed team. Calagary was more of a bang and crash hockey team so i think Montreal will be a way better fit for Alex Tanguay. The guy is a 80 point a year kind of player. Montreal needed a good top line left winger and that is what they got with Alex. In the same time they just reinforced the’re third line.

 Latest on Mats Sundin

mat-sundin.jpgMats Sundin said to the press that he was not in a hurry to sign a new contract as he is not sure yet if he is going to retire or play for another year. He is going to test the free agent market to see what are is options. The teams interested in Sundin are Montreal, NY Rangers and of course the Toronto Maple Leafs. Montreal had the exclusive rights to negociate with theToronto Maple Leafs centerman. Bob Gainey was on the phone with him but was not able to cut a deal right away. Montreal would offer Mat a 7.25 to 7.5 million a year for two years contract.

I’ll keep you posted with the latest development regarding Mat Sundin
